Renee Doropoulos (b. 1980, Perth | Boorloo, Western Australia) is a Greek-Australian photographer whose work offers a contemplative exploration of human behaviour and the intricacies of contemporary life, seen through the quiet lens of everyday experience. Guided by an intuitive approach, Doropoulos treats photography as a modern spiritual practice—an act of presence that reveals the subtle, often unseen connections between people, place, and something beyond the material world.
Working across both analogue and digital mediums, her images arise from a deep sensitivity, capturing fleeting moments where emotion, transience, and a sense of the sacred quietly intersect. Her photographs do not aim to document so much as to feel—balancing spontaneity with intention to create visual spaces rich in atmosphere, memory, and emotional depth.
Drawing from personal relationships and the surrounding environment, Doropoulos creates intimate visual conversations that explore identity, vulnerability, and belonging. Her work attends to the quiet exchanges between subject, photographer, and setting—acknowledging the invisible relationships that shape our experience and sense of place.
Based in Perth | Boorloo, Doropoulos has exhibited widely in Western Australia. Her work has been shown at the Perth Centre for Photography, Mundaring Arts Centre, Moores Building, PS Art Space, and Ferguson Foundry, and featured in in Terra Firma Magazine Issue No. 3 here.
